One recent story out of Central Florida is a powerful reminder of what that looks like in action.
Through the collective efforts of local partners, the Greater Orlando Builders Association, and Building Homes for Heroes, Army veteran Patricia Golden was surprised with a brand-new, mortgage-free home in Eatonville. After her longtime family home was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian - and amid personal health challenges - the new home represents far more than shelter. It’s a fresh start.
Moments like these are made possible through the broader support network of organizations like Sphere1, a cooperative Power Bolt and Tool is proud to be part of. Sphere1 supports initiatives like Building Homes for Heroes, which constructs and gifts mortgage-free homes to injured veterans and Gold Star families, helping restore independence, stability, and dignity.
Since its founding in 2006, Building Homes for Heroes has grown from a single-home vision into a national movement, with a goal of gifting its 500th home by the end of 2026. Each home is thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of the veteran and their family, ensuring long-term comfort and accessibility.
Stories like Patricia’s are a reminder that community impact doesn’t happen in isolation; it’s built through shared purpose and collective effort. Power Bolt and Tool is honored to support organizations and partners who are making a tangible difference for those who have given so much.
